Here are some essential tips to keep your home and lawn safe during the celebrations.

Home Safety Measures

  • Fireproof Your Home Exterior

Before the festivities begin, inspect your home’s exterior for any flammable materials. Trim overgrown bushes and remove dry leaves or debris that could easily catch fire from stray fireworks.

  • Protect Your Roof and Gutters

Dry leaves and twigs in gutters can be a fire hazard. Make sure your gutters are clean to prevent any potential fire risk from falling fireworks.

  • Illuminate Pathways

Well-lit pathways can prevent trips and falls during nighttime celebrations. Make sure all outdoor lighting is functional and consider adding temporary lights along walkways and around gathering areas.

Lawn and Yard Safety

  • Prepare Your Lawn

Keep your lawn mowed and well-watered. A green, hydrated lawn is less likely to ignite from stray sparks than a dry one.
